The Tulsi plant is considered one of the most sacred plants in Hinduism. It is a belief that in a house where there is a Tulsi plant, there are no problems in it. On the other hand, if the basil plant dries up without reason, it indicates losses and difficulties in the house. Having a Tulsi plant in almost all Hindu homes is essential. But there are some Vastu rules for planting Tulsi plants, which are always advised to be kept in mind so that the house’s happiness remains.

Don’t keep dustbins around Tulsi plant.

Don’t keep shoes and slippers around Tulsi plant.

If you keep shoes or slippers around the Tulsi plant, it can cause your life sorrow. Tulsi is considered to be the form of Goddess Lakshmi. That’s why Goddess Lakshmi gets angry by keeping shoes or slippers near the Tulsi plant, and no one can stop a pauper from coming into such a house. Lord Vishnu also gets mad if this plant is not kept according to Vastu.

Do not keep Shivling near Tulsi.

Many people keep Shivling in a Tulsi pot and worship Tulsi and Shivling there. But according to Vastu, Shivling should never be held in the Tulsi plant. This is because in her previous birth, Tulsi was Vrinda, and she was the wife of a demon named Jalandhar. But seeing Jalandhar’s tyranny, Lord Shiva killed him. Since then, it has been advised not to offer Tulsi Dal to Lord Shiva, so Shivling should never be kept in the Tulsi plant.

Do not keep Ganpati near Tulsi.

According to a legend, one day, Tulsi Devi was passing by the bank of Ganga Ghat. At that time, Ganpati ji was meditating there. On seeing Ganesh ji, Tulsi awakened her desire to marry him, but Ganesh ji refused. Refused and cursed them that they would have two marriages. But due to the curse of Tulsi, the use of Tulsi is prohibited in the worship of Ganesha. Therefore, if you are keeping the idol of Lakshmi ji with the Tulsi plant, note that you should not keep the standard of Ganesh ji near this plant.

Do not Keep Cactus plant near Tulsi.

The cactus plant is thorny. That’s why keeping this plant is not considered good. Plants with thorns start transmitting negative energy in the house. So mainly, keeping these plants near the Tulsi plant is not regarded as correct.

It is considered inauspicious if you keep a plant of Akua near Tulsi in your house. First, that is because the Akua plant symbolises Lord Shiva. The second reason is that if the milk coming out of this plant falls on Tulsi, it can spoil Tulsi.
