Varieties / किस्मे

The two most popular types of marigolds are African (Tagetes erecta) and French (Tagetes patula) marigolds. Apart from this, Signet Marigolds and Mule Marigolds are also varieties of this flower.
African Marigolds: These varieties of marigolds are tall and erect plants whose height grows to about three feet. African marigolds are a great bedding plant. The flowers are globe-shaped and large, and their flowers can be up to 5 inches long. These flowers are orange to yellow and do not include marigolds in red.
French Marigolds: The color of the flowers of this species is red, yellow, and orange, its flowers are slightly smaller, which are about two inches in size, and its plants are not too big. The size of the plant varies from about ten inches to twenty inches.
Signet Marigolds: These produce compact plants with finely divided and small clusters of small, single flowers. It has yellow to orange colored, edible flowers. Its leaves have a lemon scent.
