Balam Cucumber or Balam kheera (Kigelia) is a fruit native to West Africa. Apart from Africa, this fruit is found all over India. It eliminates hundreds of diseases from the root. This tree is of tropical climate. It is found in almost all the states in Africa as well as India. The height of this tree is up to 20 meters, its fruits hang on long fibrous stalks. Its flower is big red color and yellowish red flower from outside. The raw fruits of this leaf cannot be used as food because it is like poison. The fruit of Balam cucumber is dried and used in small quantities.
